- »Livestock Based Rural Economy. In the past decade or so, farmers focused more on production of off season vegetables using tunnel agriculture technology. It helped increase farm incomes despite market challenges and price fluctuations. Climate change made it even more risky. Unfortunately, farmers paid less attention to move from subsistence livestock farming to Livestock Value Chains. There are some good examples of success here and there but it has not been picked up by majority of the farmers. RBDC is in process to build a model to scale up its livestock value chain in South Punjab.
- »RBDC is registering small rural organisations. Members will be helped build capacity in rural value chains. CBOs working on agriculture are encouraged to apply.
- »RBDC is actively pursuing farmers and institutions to make Sisal a regular fibre crop and business in Pakistan.

Who We Are
The RBDC is a dedicated Business Development Centre. It is an initiative as part of the regeneration of rural economies, development of green rural economy and rural poverty reduction.
Value Chains
The Centre provides information on numerous grant and business development programs that can support new and existing businesses. If required, appointments can be made for advisors to meet with clients to develop new ideas or to assist with solutions and provide support to current businesses.

Who Can Use The Centre?
The Centre is open to all new and established farm and rural business in Pakistan. Strong agricultural and rural business base is being developed in many regions and farmers and farm businesses do need support in organizing new businesses. However, there are many other businesses ranging from light industries, food processing and an expanding service industry operating in the county and all are welcome at the centre.
Existing Businesses
Support for existing businesses is available at the centre with up to date information available on grant and support packages available. If you wish to expand, diversify or are looking at ways to consolidate your current business the centre can assist.
Young and New Businesses
The centre welcomes anyone who wishes to start a new business from the young to the not so young, there are programs, which can help all establish and fulfill their aspirations. Young Businesses are also linked to the Federal and Provincial business loans programmes.
