Sisal Value chain and Nursery Development Training

Lok Sanjh Foundation (LSF) and Rural Business Development Centre (RBDC) organized training on Sisal Nursery Development and Sisal Value Chain Development in collaboration with National Agriculture Research Centre (NARC), Islamabad.

Lead Farmers from the regions of Districts Chakwal and Attock participated in the training along with LSF staff.
Mr. Farooq Khan, Deputy Executive Director, Lok Sanjh Foundation started training by Introducing Sisal crop and its benefits.

Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed, Director Rangeland Research Institute, NARC gave training on sisal nursery development focusing on Sisal nursery plot development and other technical details about agronomy of sisal plant.

Dr. Shahid Zia, Managing Director stressed on need of Sisal value chain development and also shared Sisal value chain success stories of the various countries. Dr. Shahid gave insight of how sisal value chain can be developed in Pakistan and its potential impact on lives of poor and small farmers.

Dr. Farzana Shahid, Executive Director Lok Sanjh Foundation, Presided the training Session at the end of training. She motivated farmers to grow sisal crop and also announced various incentives for the promotion of sisal plantation. She thanked men and women farmers’ participants for joining the training session.
